Matthew White appointed CEO of BW floating desalination venture BW Elara
BW Group and BW Offshore have appointed Matthew White as CEO of their 50/50 floating desalination joint venture, BW Elara. White takes the role following the completion of Industrie De Nora’s acquisition of BW Water, where he had served as CEO and executive chairman.
BW Group and BW Offshore have named Matthew White chief executive of BW Elara, their equally owned venture focused on supplying clean water through floating desalination units.
White previously spent six years as CEO and executive chairman of BW Water, leading its expansion in water, wastewater and desalination services. BW Elara said he will oversee efforts to deploy flexible and scalable floating systems in countries and industries facing water scarcity.
The appointment coincides with the completion on July 1 of BW Renewables’ sale of BW Water Pte. Ltd. to Industrie De Nora S.p.A. The transaction was announced on May 26, and BW Water has now joined De Nora’s global water business. BW Group said it will retain exposure to the water sector through BW Elara, which combines the sponsors’ maritime and offshore experience with water-engineering capabilities.
