Petrobras christens P-80 and P-82 platforms in Singapore ahead of Brazil sailaway

Petrobras and Seatrium held christening and sailaway ceremonies for the P-80 and P-82 platforms at Tuas Boulevard Yard in Singapore on August 27. Petrobras said both units remain in the final phase of module integration and will depart for Brazil in the coming weeks, with P-80 expected to leave first.

The platforms are assigned to the Búzios field in the Santos Basin pre-salt and are scheduled to begin production in 2027. Each will have capacity to produce 225,000 barrels of oil per day and process 12 million cubic metres of gas per day, making them among the highest-capacity units in Petrobras’ current floating production program.

Petrobras contracted construction under an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning model. Process modules for P-80 were fabricated at Seatrium BrasFELS in Angra dos Reis, while modules for P-82 were produced at Estaleiro Seatrium Aracruz in Espírito Santo. Additional construction work took place in China, Singapore and Indonesia before the modules were transported to Singapore for final integration.

The two units form part of a six-platform high-capacity development cycle that began with FPSO Almirante Tamandaré. Petrobras also identified P-83 for Búzios, P-84 for Atapu and P-85 for Sépia as subsequent units in the program.
