FSO PTSC Lac Da Vang Named Ahead of Fourth-Quarter 2026 Start-Up
Yinson Production has marked the naming of the 500,000-barrel FSO PTSC Lac Da Vang as the newbuild enters final outfitting, commissioning and testing. The vessel is expected to begin storage and offloading services at Vietnam’s Lac Da Vang field in the fourth quarter of 2026 under a 10-year firm contract.
The FSO PTSC Lac Da Vang has been named ahead of its planned deployment to the Lac Da Vang field in Block 15-1/05 offshore Vietnam. Yinson Production said the vessel is proceeding through final outfitting, commissioning and testing before sail-away, with operations expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The double-hull newbuild has capacity for approximately 500,000 barrels and incorporates dual-fuel systems intended to improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions. Its naming follows a launch at Nantong StrongWind Shipyard in China earlier in 2026.
Murphy Cuu Long Bac Oil Co. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corporation, has contracted the FSO to provide storage and offloading services for the field. The contract has a firm term of 10 years and an extension option covering up to five additional years.
The project also extends Yinson Production’s relationship with PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation. The companies have operated offshore assets in Vietnam for more than a decade, including FSO PTSC Bien Dong 01 since 2013 and FPSO PTSC Lam Son since 2014. The new FSO’s remaining commissioning, sail-away and field deployment will be the principal milestones to watch before the targeted operational start.
