FPSO Errea Wittu arrives in Guyana ahead of offshore commissioning
MODEC’s FPSO Errea Wittu has arrived in Guyana for final offshore preparations and commissioning ahead of first oil. The two-million-barrel vessel will serve the Snoek, Mako and Uaru resources in the Stabroek block, about 200 kilometers offshore in 1,690 meters of water.
MODEC has completed the delivery voyage of FPSO Errea Wittu to Guyana, marking the vessel’s transition into final offshore preparation and commissioning. The company did not provide a target date for first oil.
Developed for ExxonMobil Guyana, the FPSO will support the Snoek, Mako and Uaru resources in the Stabroek block. It is intended for deployment approximately 200 kilometers offshore in 1,690 meters of water and will use a SOFEC Spread Mooring System. Crude storage capacity is about two million barrels.
The newly built unit incorporates MODEC’s full double-hull design and an enlarged topsides deck for high-capacity processing equipment. Its technology package includes a gas turbine combined-cycle system intended to improve efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions, as well as AI-enabled systems for predictive maintenance, emissions management and process-safety analysis. The design also supports potential remote operations from shore.
MODEC said it will provide operations and maintenance services for the vessel following delivery. FPSO Errea Wittu is the company’s first FPSO for use in Guyana and its 18th FPSO or FSO project delivered for operations in South America.
