Equinor-led Ringvei Vest selects 240-MMboe subsea tieback concept to Troll B
Equinor and its partners have agreed the development concept for Ringvei Vest, combining seven discoveries and the Grønngylt prospect in a proposed subsea tieback to Troll B in the Norwegian North Sea. The approximately 240-million-boe project is planned around 13 wells and six subsea templates, with seabed separation and processing, power and well control provided through Troll B. A DG2 continuation decision is targeted for the end of 2026, while investment, FID, development-plan and production-start dates remain undecided.
Confirmed: Equinor and its unnamed partners have selected a common concept for Ringvei Vest, an early-phase subsea development incorporating seven discoveries and one prospect across eight licences with seven owners. Equinor says it operates all the relevant licences and estimates the combined resources at 240 million boe. The current concept calls for 13 wells through six templates, seabed separation, and transport of the well stream to Troll B. Troll B would provide processing support, electrical power and well control, with a new compressor planned to expand platform capacity. A DG2 continuation decision is scheduled for the end of 2026, but Equinor has not disclosed investment estimates or set dates for FID, plan submission or first production.
Interpretation: Concept agreement materially advances the commercial alignment of several smaller discoveries around existing infrastructure, but the project remains before its continuation and investment decisions.
