BW Offshore Signs Equinor FEED Agreement for Bay du Nord FPSO
BW Offshore has signed a FEED agreement with Equinor for the Bay du Nord FPSO offshore Newfoundland and Labrador. The work is scheduled to continue through the end of 2026, supporting design maturation, execution planning and commercial alignment ahead of a potential final investment decision in 2027.
BW Offshore has moved into front-end engineering and design for the Bay du Nord FPSO after signing an agreement with Equinor. The award follows BW Offshore’s selection as preferred FPSO bidder and advances the proposed development toward a potential final investment decision in 2027.
The FEED phase is expected to run through the end of 2026. BW Offshore said the work will mature the FPSO design, finalize the execution plan and delivery schedule, and progress commercial and contractual arrangements toward a firm offer to Equinor. The process will also include the selection of major subcontractors and vendors, creating a potential near-term supply-chain opportunity. The release did not disclose the agreement’s value or the planned FPSO’s production and storage capacities.
BW Offshore has established an office in St. John’s and appointed a local benefits manager to coordinate with Equinor, authorities and the regional supply chain. An official opening is planned for early June, while a local content plan will be developed in line with the project’s Frame Agreement and the Atlantic Accord.
