BW Offshore Amends BW Catcher FPSO Contract Through 2030, Adds $490 Million to Backlog

BW Offshore and the Catcher field partners have amended the BW Catcher FPSO contract to establish a defined end-of-term framework of December 31, 2030, subject to a six-month adjustment either way. Effective February 1, 2026, the revised terms are expected to add approximately $490 million to BW Offshore’s firm operating cash-flow backlog and replace the previous series of unilateral one-year extension options. The clearer expiry window allows BW Offshore to begin marketing the harsh-environment FPSO for redeployment after its Catcher assignment.

Confirmed: BW Offshore has agreed revised contract terms with the Catcher field partners for the FPSO BW Catcher. The contract now has a defined end-of-term framework of December 31, 2030, with a six-month adjustment window, replacing the previous unilateral one-year extension options. The amendments took effect on February 1, 2026, and BW Offshore estimates that they increased firm operating cash-flow backlog by about $490 million as of that date. Commercial changes include a discount equal to 10% of the current bareboat charter dayrate, offset against the O&M dayrate, and a revised production tariff from 2028 with an oil-price-linked cap.

Interpretation: The amendment improves medium-term earnings visibility while giving BW Offshore a clearer timeframe in which to market BW Catcher for another assignment. Subject to the final end date, field requirements and any transition work, the unit could become a redeployment candidate around late 2030 or 2031. This is a potential future FPSO supply signal rather than confirmation of a specific redeployment project; no follow-on customer, field or award was announced.
