Baleine Phase 2 FPSO and FSO Lift Field Output to 60,000 b/d
Baleine Phase 2 achieved first oil in December 2024 using FPSO Petrojarl Kong and FSO Yamoussoukro, raising field production to 60,000 barrels per day of oil and approximately 70 MMscf/d of associated gas. Altera Infrastructure said the fast-track redeployment was completed without a lost-time injury.
Altera Infrastructure said Baleine Phase 2 achieved first oil in December 2024 following the fast-track redeployment of FPSO Petrojarl Kong and FSO Yamoussoukro offshore Côte d’Ivoire. The two units support production and oil-export operations, with the expansion increasing Baleine field output to 60,000 barrels per day of oil and approximately 70 MMscf/d of associated gas.
The company reported more than 10 million work hours across the project, including over 8 million hours without a lost-time injury. Altera also established an office in Abidjan as the operational center for the two floating units, marking its first operating presence in West Africa.
Altera attributed delivery of the project to collaboration with Eni, Petroci Holding and Drydocks World. The company also signaled plans to continue into Baleine Phase 3 with Eni, indicating further potential activity around the field’s floating-production infrastructure and associated supply chain.
